Guidé·es par les mains d’une orfèvre, nous plongeons dans l’humus automnal à cheval sur nos paupières mi-closes. Gargouillement, grésillements, Kokhlias nous promène du figuratif à l’abstrait, entre fourmilière et synthèse modulaire, du déluge intérieur à l’éclaircie électrique.

Artiste sonore et musicienne, née en Sibérie et basée à Genève, Olga Kokcharova s’intéresse à tout ce qui est audible indépendamment du médium, privilégiant une prise de son minutieuse mais expérimentant aussi dans des circonstances où le matériel d’enregistrement est mis à l’épreuve, pour se servir des sources ainsi obtenues afin de créer des compositions ou improvisations électroacoustiques multi-canal, des bandes son, des performances ou des installations sonores dans l’espace public.

Guided by the hands of a goldsmith, we dive into the autumnal humus straddling our half-closed eyelids. Gargling, sizzling, Kokhlias takes us from figurative to abstract, between anthill and modular synthesis, from the inner deluge to the electric thinning.

Sound artist and musician, born in Siberia and based in Geneva, Olga Kokcharova is interested in everything audible independently of the medium, privileging a meticulous sound recording but also experimenting in circumstances where the recording material is set to use the sources thus obtained to create multi-channel electroacoustic compositions or improvisations, soundtracks, performances or sound installations in the public space.
