Deuxième opus de Joëlle Kehrli - a.k.a jo~oj - qui nous emmène dans l'ambiance moite et fraîche d'une cuve enterrée, laissant résonner un sitar sur lit de basses douces, avant de nous prêter l'environnement curieux d'un bol de croquettes expérimental et sérieux. On vous laisse vous laisser prendre par la face B, un face à face intense et intransigent entre un piano et une voix : classique, déroutant, mystique !

Cistern's Asavari :
Ce morceau a été enregistré dans la citerne d'eau vide de Chantemerle, dont la résonance a été découverte en la nettoyant.
Je joue un court alap (introduction) du raga Asavari. Ce mode du répertoire hindustani évoque une retraite contemplative dans une grotte, et se rapporte à "l'esprit de la lumière".

Une succession d'accidents sonores, dont l'assemblage a pris forme grâce à l'aura et la présence multiforme de Mia.

L’Étoile :
En référence à l'Arcane 17 du Tarot, c'est une carte importante pour moi, qui m'a "guidée" dans un moment de refondement/réorientation de ma vie, et dont est issu ce morceau ; créé pour ma carte blanche à la cave12 (janvier 2018) - donc très symbolique du début pour moi.
L'Etoile est aussi la carte de La Joie, où l'inspiration de ce morceau m'est venue en jouant sur le piano de la maison. C'est aussi là-bas que j'ai décidé d'aller enregistrer ce morceau pour la K7.

Second opus by Joëlle Kehrli - a.k.a jo~oj - which takes us into the moist and fresh atmosphere of an underground tank, letting a sitar resonate on a bed of soft basses, before lending us the curious environment of a bowl of experimental and serious croquettes. We'll let you be taken by the B side, an intense and uncompromising face to face between a piano and a voice : classic, confusing, mystical !

Cistern's Asavari :
This piece was recorded in the empty water tank of Chantemerle, whose resonance was discovered while cleaning it.
I play a short alap (introduction) of the Asavari raga. This mode of the Hindustani repertoire evokes a contemplative retreat in a cave, and relates to "the spirit of light".

A succession of sound accidents, the assembly of which took shape thanks to the aura and the multifaceted presence of Mia.

L'Etoile :
In reference to the Arcanum 17 of the Tarot, it's an important card for me, which "guided" me in a moment of refoundation/reorientation of my life, and from which this piece is inspired; created for my carte blanche at cave12 (January 2018) - so very symbolic of the beginning for me.
L'Etoile is also the card of La Joie, where the inspiration for this piece came to me while playing on the house piano. It's also there that I decided to go and record this song for the K7.
